Spring Garden Planning

By April you should see signs of life in your yard. Hooray! Here is a simple overview of what your yard needs from you this month.

Beware: Be ready to cover any plants if the temperature take a sudden dip for a couple days in a row. A few days or even weeks of nice weather can (falsely) lead us to believe Spring has sprung.

Weeds! They will come out strong. Remove them as they appear. Mulch can help prevent them from returning. After a rainstorm is the best time to weed. Or maybe during the rainstorm for a little elemental fun.

Sow: Lettuce and Arugula

Plant: Broccoli, Beets, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Onions, Kale, Peas, Potatoes, Radishes, Shallots, Spinach + Turnips.

Starting seeds indoors? Great, here’s the list: Peppers, Summer Squash, Winter Squash + Tomatoes.

Missing flowers? Pansies, Violas, Primroses, and Sweet Peas are ready to plant early-bloomers.

Whether you want a simple flower garden, complex veggie garden, herb spirals, or the perfect tea garden Larkspur Landscaping can conjure up something beautiful, functional, and unique. Unearth the magic and let’s co-create your space.

Happy Dreaming, Sowing and Planting!
